Inclusive – but not in a fake ass way
Inclusive photography means that you are welcome in my space just as you are. You don’t have to be anything but authentically yourself, and not a huge dick. Over the years I have worked to truly be able to embrace myself fully and lovingly, and it has been a continuous journey. Trust me when I tell you I’m not done growing. But in this space, in this path of growth, I’ve realized just how important it is to be able to see yourself well represented. To be inclusive means more than slapping a rainbow on my logo. It means holding space for my couples so that they feel comfortable and safe expressing their love however they choose to. Opening my space up to people from marginalized and under-represented communities and allowing for them to use my little platform to amplify their stories. It means centering YOU in my work instead of myself.
Being size inclusive: it matters. Representing the LGBTQIA+ community in my body of work: it matters. Celebrating all types of relationships: it matters. I want to be able to hold space so that you feel comfortable being your true self. I want my brand to scream inclusivity in a non-performative way so loudly that everyone and anyone who has ever felt under-represented can finally feel seen. This world is full of incredible humans who have absolutely fantastic stories. Stories of love, and loss, of traumas, of healing, of growth. Getting to bear witness to so many of these stories is what lights my soul on fire. It’s why I continue to show up in this job. Creating art and documenting memories with you bursting rays of sunshine is what’s keeping me from being a worm.
Now what?
So if you were wondering if you’d be welcome here, it’s a resounding YES! I’ll bring snacks and awkward laughter, you just bring yourself. I am with you. I’m for you. Love you so hard <3
