The key to eloping, especially in the woods, is to take proper precautions to not be eaten by a mountain lion. For more tips and tricks on basic survival skills, follow my blog! Okay, just kidding. But seriously, respect the wildlife. I’m done. Look how cute these two are!

When it comes to eloping, the most fun part is that there are no rules. You get to design and handcraft your day exactly how you want it. In this moment, you get to ditch all of the garbage that is tied up in other peoples’ expectations of you, and fully embrace you and your love. My cup has been constantly filled by my couples. keeping it overflowing when the past two years has left it feeling bare many many times over. Again and again I am amazed by the joy I get to feel. Every. Single. Time.
What eloping with Rocket and Megan looked like
Flowers at the market, burrito stops, arctic blue secret hideaways, and vows exchanged at a small, fairy-like alter. This day was unlike any I’d had before, or any I’ll have ever again. I got to watch these two incredible humans as they shared their love in small acts of service to each other. In small rituals hand-crafted by them, even inn freezing cold water, Rocket and Megan washed each others feet to round off the night. Megan reminded Rocket that she is “the glitter in her sink” while Rocket said she never feels closer to God than when she is with Megan. (And that Megan is cooler than a polar bear’s toenails. But I’ll let you decide which is more poetic).
Love is awesome
Your love language grows and ebbs and flows as you grow together. It’s a special sort of growth that nourishes your soul. When you see someone in their entirety, that’s where the power lives.
Your love is epic. It’s magical. And it deserves to be celebrated however the hell you want to. See, I told you eloping is fun!
